“I believe that every amputee who has the desire to walk deserves to walk without pain. There are a number of reasons an amputee experiences pain. Some pain originates within the amputation residual-limb without a Prosthesis on. Pain can be caused when wearing a Prosthesis. There are also many possible solutions to resolving pain.

As a practicing prosthetist for over 50 years, and a consultant to hospitals and private practices in many areas of the United States, I have had the opportunity to see and solve many problems amputees have. It may take time but there is always a solution.

When I was a consultant to a private practice in Ann Arbor, MI, Fran Starzec was a clinical assistant. He expressed an interest in prosthetics. He subsequently attended university to study prosthetics and joined me in my practice. He has been with me for 40 years.
